"Worth every penny. Wish I had bought one ten years ago!" 2010-04-19
By John Stein (Elizabethtown, PA USA)
This is the best practice tool ever. It's the best equipment purchase I have ever made. I don't know how it compares to the BOSS or other similar items, but I like the fact that it has USB hookup to save tracks to your computer. From what I have read, it has more features, more recording time, higher number of loops (999) than any of the others. The new model now comes with the GIG card standard. That's hours of loops.

I was surprised by how rugged it feels. It weighs a ton. Compared to other pedals it seems to be built like a tank. I do not like that the power adapter is 9v AC. Most other pedals are DC current, so I can't power the Jamman with the power supply I use to power all my other pedals.

I have been playing for about 15 years, mostly acoustic, rhythm electric and bass. I've never been good a improv but over the past few years started working on it. The going has been very slow to say the least. I've been learning a new lick here and there from youtube. I thought about buying some backing tracks to jam with, but I am cheap and wanted to get the most for my money.

The Jamman is totally worth every penny. If I had this thing ten years ago I would be Eric Clapton by now. Ok maybe not, but compared to where I am now I would be.

I improved more in a few hours with the Jamman than in months of learning licks from youtube. Not that the licks didn't help. I will continue to learn a lick or so every day, but you have to be able to put it all together and have a rhythm to work off of. If you have the skills to lay down just about any rhythm you would need, this is the jamming practice tool for you. Get it yesterday. Use it every day. You will be amazed.

No I do not work for or am in any associated with the company. I just was blown away with what an excellent purchase I had made. They really should give me commission for this review though :)

 "Where's the Problem ?" 2010-03-03
By S. Anderson (South Carolina, USA)
I was reluctant to pull the trigger on this one. So many reviews slammed it and I didn't want to get burned too. But it advertised to do some important tasks that I could really put to use. I have had my Jamman for a couple of months and although I have not used the vocal sampling feature yet, this looper has performed perfectly. There is a slight learning curve on getting your timing right, but any problems I ever had stem form 'operator error"'! The damn thing isn't going to get you on the cover of Guitar Player all by itself. But it will play back what you sample into it. Just another tool in the old Ax man's tool box. But one that will be used and not collect dust like so many others. I was surprised to get the new upgraded 1 gig memory card with mine. Sweet!

"It is what it is..." 2010-01-09
By J.R. (Indianapolis, Indiana)
This product does exactly what it claims. The only thing the JAM MAN doesn't do what I wish it would is use quantizing to make it easier for tracks to "fit" in their loop. I know the boss looper does this and comparing videos online you too would understand how nifty the quantizing feature is. I am looking to sell this item on ebay because I can just run my line-out from my pedal I play with for practic into my PC and create loops from there much more detailed and not have to worry about not being able to quantize my loop.

"Jamman is a cool monster!" 2009-11-25
By Trixie
I've been using this pedal for two years now with nary a problem. I did have one issue early on, but I discovered that it was the el cheapo memory card I bought at Staples (they had better ones, I just went with the cheapie). In discussing it on the DigiTech forum, other users told me to get a better card, I did, and the glitching after multiple loops went away. I am told that the card probably had a bad sector. I guess the lesson is kind of like cassettes in the good old days, or when burning CD's in modern times: use a good one from a major manufacturer and you will get better results with fewer problems. Anyway, smooth sailing after that. There are a couple of notes on the DigiTech website about making sure your loops are at least 3.5 seconds long, but that has never been an issue for me. Love this thing!
