I use this lock strap on a Black Ibanez acoustic guitar - a JSA10 - because I usually move around the stage a lot when I perform.
The lock strap fit perfectly, and I no longer have to live in fear of when a strap will give out and I drop my precious acoustic on the floor.
I have also tried this on a Japan-made Fernandes Telecaster copy, and have no problems with it.
I'm gonna be using this strap for a long time, I just know it.

A nice design, I love the idea, but the ends are too thick to fit my
Gibson J-100 Xtra, which would make it too thick for many guitars
that (like mine) have an end pin with built in jack.
It does seem pretty reliable and fairly easy to use.

Luckily the strap fit my son's guitar. I had some problems with a cheaper strap purchased through Amazon. This one clamps on tight as described. We no longer have to worry about the guitar coming loose from the strap and falling to the floor. This strap is well worth the money if it fits your guitar. FYI - my son plays an Epiphone Junior 3/4 model.

When I got my strap I was really excited about it but, that excitement wore off as soon as I saw that, because my guitar has the pin in the back of the guitar, the only way of fitting the lock in it would make the design of the strap backwards and there is no way to fit it any other way. If the lock is design to only be able to fit it one way, at the very least it should say in the description that guitars that have the forward pin in the back of the body will not be able to use this locks.

Same for me as ColinF... I bought the strap to go with a new guitar, and the pins on the guitar fit through the holes for the strap, but the end pins on the guitar aren't quite long enough, and the thickness of that plastic strap lock has the strap jammed really tight against the guitar body, not so great. If the plastic locking part was engineered just a little thinner then there would be no problems. I tried putting the strap on my other guitar and it fit very nicely.
Aside from that, the locking mechanism built into the strap is a pretty smart design and is very easy to lock and unlock, but its little ratcheting keyhole-disc will never release on its own, it pretty much takes 2 hands to unlock it...
Planet Waves made a nice gesture offering to send replacement end pins for $2.50 shipping+handling. I'm going to take them up on that offer, and if that works out OK then I'll probably go out and get another one of these straps so I have them on both guitars, if it wasn't for the thickness of that plastic part then I'd give this strap 5 stars
Just in case anyone has the same guitars and is wondering:
Dean MP series Flying V == doesn't fit so great
Schecter C-7 == fits wonderfully
