"Worked for, perhaps, 10 seconds" 2010-08-22
By B. I SIMPSON (Asheville, NC USA)
This seemed like a simple unit that also had the capability for extensive customization at the same time. Sounds perfect, right? Well I'm sure it would have been, had it worked. I tried it with three guitars and several different cables, and got nothing. Let me revise that--in one case, if I took the cable out of the guitar and held it so it barely made contact, I could get sporadic responses from the Behringer. I don't know if you've ever tried that but it's pretty impossible to play guitar in that fashion. Maybe if I was Fred Frith, sure, but as it turns out I'm not Fred Frith. I contacted Amazon and sent it back for a refund the same day. Amazon, to their credit, responded immediately...almost as if they were expecting this reaction. This is a sour way to make acquaintance with Behringer products and I am disinclined to do so a second time.

"Fell in love with this, once I figured it out." 2010-08-11
By Lenny Timons (NY, NY)
This machine is deep and capable of a lot of different functions. That said, I think it has a learning curve to get it to do exactly what you want. But once you figure it out, it's a really amazing unit that has really expanded my capabilities a lot in a way I really appreciate. I really recommend this without hesitation.

 "Behringer EM600 Echo Machine" 2010-08-05

I received my EM600 Echo Machine today and so far I am impressed. I didn't have any expectations so I could evaluate this product fairly. For $50 I wasn't really expecting a tape quality delay but for the price it is a very good sounding Delay unit. Quite a bit of flexibility for the price. I also have a Behringer SO400 Super Octave pedal and it also does an excellent job. I gave it a 4 because of the plastic case. If you don't move it around too much it should hold up well.

"Unit non-functioning in very short time" 2010-07-08
By Eli Bishop (virginia)
I may update my review with notes about the actual performance - if I can ever get it to cut back on. I've had this pedal a very short time and have turned it on twice to use it. Now, it cuts on but there is no effect added, just the same sound as normal. It's only been run power-wise on my pedalboard power supply. I will try to contact Behringer for a replacement, but until then, the review is one star, for a non functioning product. I noticed other reviews with the same problem, so I'm seeing it as a product defect.

"A Budget Delay With Decent Performance And Good Flexibility" 2010-05-24
By NilZilch (Mid Atlantic)
I'll be using this in my practice room for some time to come.

The full stereo in and out provide plenty of patching flexibility. I'll be using the "Ping Pong" mode the most. Switching the "Type" between "Tape", "Digi", and "Analog" provides some very interesting flavoring of the echo signal.

As with most of these Behringer effects, the noise level and fidelity are decent for a product in this price range, and the plastic case is reasonably sturdy for light to medium duty (though I'm not one to do any crush tests).

The other echo types all seem reasonably useful and interesting. If I can get around to reading the manual, I might yet give the "tap" features a try.

For fun, running up the "Repeat" to infinite gets some decent UFO audio effects (particularly in "Slap" mode), which can be nicely hypnotic and rhythmic.
