 "I Like it !" 2010-05-19
By Ken Leiboff (WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, US)
I like it so much that I ordered a second one.

For years, I have been using the Shubb capos and I am very happy with Shubb products (and service).

I find that the Glider is very handy

It stays attached to the guitar so it doesnt get set down or misplaced. I find it easier to stay in tune with the Glider after repeated "capo ing"

 "Very nice gadget" 2010-02-06

The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is I use it on my 12 string and I'm not sure it was designed for that. It works flawlessly on my 6 string guitars. Mine rolls as easily as the one in the video, but I think the springs might need tightening a little because it has a problem fretting the smaller strings of the Low E and A pairs on my 12 string. Unlike a previous reviewer, I found the capo was more than wide enough for my 12 string, a Larrivee D-03-12 acoustic electric. I only use the Glider when the song has a key change, otherwise, a capo designed for 12 string guitars works better for me. All things considered it is a great addition to my accessories.

 "It really worked" 2009-10-26

I saw a video of this capo in action and said... wow that looks easy! Well, I can't quite slide it up on down my Takamine Santa Fe quite as easily as the video but it's pretty close. It might just take some practice. Quality is good.

One drawback is that it is not wide enough for use on my 12 string guitar.

Just the capo I've been looking for. Gives clear, accurate tuning all the way up the neck and adjusts itself to just the right tension...just what my luthier recommended. Easy on my Martin.

 "Nice idea . . .but" 2008-01-03

I've been playing guitar for 30+ years and have tried many capos. I used this for one day and it's been collecting dust since. Although the concept seemed nice to me, using it leaves a little to be desired. When resting the capo on the nut of the guitar and sliding it down, more times than not it will pull a string or two out of tune. Depending on neck thickness, in my opinion it applies too much pressure, again, causing strings to go out of tune. The overhang of the capo can get in the way at times, especially at your high e. This of course depends on your playing style. You might also consider the springs, roller contacts, they will wear in time.

If I were to recommend a capo, I would suggest the Shubb c-1, you can adjust the pressure to be "just enough" without taking your guitar out of tune. It's compact, very easy to use and quick to install. A huge point, it does not get in the way.

Another good one, but expensive, is the G7. It is somewhat faster to adjust, much heavier and a higher price tag.
