I ordered this cable from a retailer in the US who sent it (free) to my post box. Unfortunately, I didn't open the package for several weeks after I received it, as I had ordered extra stuff I didn't need right away. Good retailer - no issue there. This cable was bad right out of the package - at least one pin not connected, so it produced the most glorious hum. Ah, but Monster has a Lifetime Warranty, you say? Sure. So I sent them a message, and didn't get a response for over 2 weeks. Then I requested an RA number for my address. Well, I work for the US military outside the US, and only have a Mil Post mail box. And guess what? Monster won't deliver to a box, only a real street address. So I gave them that, which they turned over to a distributor in the country where I live, and those folks contacted me (about a week later) with an RA number for their shop. Well, postage over here is about 3 times more than in the US, and I pointed out to them that the cable was defective and should be replaced at no cost to me. No, I'd have to pay the postage. So, a $30 cable just became a $45 cable (plus the inconvenience of traveling to a local PO when the US one is right where I live). That's fine. Last Monster product I buy, and I told them that. But "it's not our policy to pay for shipping" a defective cable back to them for replacement. Okay, but what about attracting and keeping paying customers? Apparently not a real concern...And BTW, my $12 mic cables that I've had for years have given me absolutely no issues and sound fine. And if you're still buying into the Monster hype, if you really think there's a difference in audio quality, check out the blindfold test where "audiophiles" couldn't tell the difference between Monster speaker cable (pricey!) and coat hangers. Can't include the link, but it's easy to find; just search for the key words. I found it while trying to find their contact and warranty info.



My recommendation? Save some bucks and don't pay for hype.

The 2 cables I got look new, but were in beat-up packaging that I haven't seen in a retail store in at least a few years. I bought a couple new ones at Guitar Center around the same time and the plugs have a new design (which is displayed in the product image here). Even so, the old-style cable I bought 5 years ago is still doing fine today, and I can get new cables anytime if these wonk out thanks to the lifetime warranty. Bottom line: A tad disappointing about the old plugs, but the price here is better than any retail store I've seen.

The mic clip fits at the end of the microphone, and prevents you from connecting the XLR connector to the mic since the rubberized end is wider than the clip. I'm gonna have to buy a different mic clip.

Our choir bought some house-brand microphone cables from that website that claims to be a friend to musicians. They barely outlasted the warranty. We proposed plopping down nearly 4 C-notes on a dozen 20-foot Standard 100 mike cables to our church's finance council. The words "Lifetime Warranty" were the clincher.



Hum? Forget about it. Cell phone static? Thing o' the past. CB radio interference? Tunes it right out. The secret is twisted pair construction, which eats up an extra inch or so of wire per foot of finished cable. The signal becomes its own electronic shield against noise. Cheaper cables use a side-by-side or linear configuration. It saves wire and keeps the price down but the cable acts as an antenna and attracts all kinds of electromagnetic junk from the air.



The jacket resists twisting and uncoils smoothly. It also rolls up for storage without fighting back like a snake that's had a few espresso shots.



The ends are finished with somewhat oversize connectors, providing a generous grip for smooth insertion and removal, but they can be a hindrance for performers who like a grab a mike off the stand and solo. That's not a problem in a church choir, so we expect the cables to last a long time. If you need a cable with a slimmer connector, move up to the Performer 500 or Studio Pro 1000 series.



The finishing touch in our sound setup is the Monster Cable S-100 instrument patch cord and an attenuating adapter for hooking our mixer to the sound system. Velvety-quiet signal transfer and audio quality that's good to the last note.



We have yet to use the Lifetime Warranty but the peace of mind is, well, as good as a gift from God.

Even my tone deaf dad said that the cable "makes it sound a little better", I say it makes it sound a lot better. While it is a bit on the expensive side, it is worth the money. I honestly don't know if this cable makes your sound better, louder, brighter or with more punch, I'm just sure that when I'm playing I don't have to worry that it'll give me problems. It's an excellent cable that wont let you down ever and wont produce strange noises. Great materials and great construction.

In case you are looking at this and wondering how a bass cable could cost SO much, allow me to enlighten you as to its greatness. The Monster Bass Cable is an excellent piece of equipment, and really is the only cable bassists should be playing with. I honestly have no clue why so many people prefer stuff like Planet Waves cables, since I've seen so many of those things totally [...] out at random. The monster is nearly indestructible, and therefore extremely reliable. I have damaged a couple of these things and they still worked. It sounds great, very natural and full. The difference in sound from a regular guitar cable is subtle. For example, you might not notice a huge difference upon using it for the first time, but if you use it for a while and then switch back to a lesser cable, I think the difference will become clear. The free replacement Monster guarantee is just about the greatest policy in the history of gear, and I've used it a couple times now. This free policy guarantees that no matter what happens to your Monster cable, they'll replace it for free. I could go into the store, buy one, chew it apart right in front of the cashier, and they'd replace it no questions asked. You can even see the quality in Monster products if unscrew the sheath near the jack. Unlike so many cheap, sketchily assembled cables, the Monster looks as perfect as it is. I hooked up an Audix OM2 mic using this cable and an identical mic with a Planet Waves Cable. Both sounded great but the monster you could hear the difference. There was a tighter sound and it was more clear. I switched the mics to see if there would be a change in sound: there wasn't. The difference was clear. Then I used a planet waves cable to hook up to a powered speaker. Same test. Same results. Monster makes a great product. Thats why they charge a premium. But if you are a smart shopper like myself you can find this cable at a GREAT price. I know i did.

I was a little skeptical that a cable will really make a difference. And I was right. I use these in a 200 watt Ampeg Micro Head/Cab setup. I don't regret purchasing the cables. They are really well made. But I also own an economical set of Monster cables and I can't tell the difference between the two for my purposes of practicing and casual jaming with friends. Perhaps this would make the difference if I were recording (which I don't).



It never hurts to get good equipment and you won't regret shelling out the extra money for this.

I was skeptical of getting this cable at first, I thought that a cable was a cable and it didn't really matter to much what you use. I was wrong. Upon opening the package, you can feel the quality of this cable, it is thicker, stronger, and better looking than any other bass cable I have seen. When I plugged it in, I immediately noticed that my bass sounded better. It sounder fuller, and more bassy. The cable doesn't change your tone, it makes whatever tone you use sound better. Even my tone deaf dad said that the cable "makes it sound a little better", I say it makes it sound a lot better. While it is a bit on the expensive side, it is worth the money. The life time warranty is definitely a positive aspect.



One final note, this is not the exact cable that I got. I needed the 21 foot, one angled one straight cable. If you need this particular cable, get it. Whatever combination of cable options work for you, is the one you should get. But whatever cable you decide to get, it will not disappoint.

As with all Monster Cable products, this is expensive. However, in this case I think it is worth the expense. The cable is solidly build, and the connections are very positive. There is no noise associated with either oxidation on the connector, or weak cable to connector soldering. Also, there is a lot of EM interference where I play, and I have noticed that there is absolutely no 60HZ hum when using this cable, showing that it is well shielded and grounded. I will probably buy another.
