"Great and convenient guitar stand" 2010-03-23
By G. Scroggin
I use this stand primarily at home for quick placement between recording takes. Works well on instruments that don't have too big of a body (I'm primarily using solid body basses). It might not work for larger dreadnought acoustics. If you're in a high traffic area with it, it might be a bit dangerous without any neck support, as I imagine you could topple it easy with a stiff bump to the headstock. I'm not concerned as it only me in room, and when I'm done with the instrument for the day, it goes back on the wall. I've used it a few times on smaller gigs, where there are limited people on stage (that I trust not to knock in to it).

Very convenient, small and out of the way for quick and temporary usage though. No issues at all and a great buy for the money.

"Good value but not great fit for tele" 2010-05-02
By Flatfive (Naperville, Illinois)
I bought the tweed version. It's attractive and not as heavy

as I expected. The construction quality appears to be pretty

good, and latches also seem of decent quality. The padding

inside is fairly light but sufficient.

My problem with this case is that it doesn't fit my

telecaster well. When the case is laid flat, the

body near the neck is slightly suspended because the neck

holder in the case is a little too high. When the case

is held sideways in carrying position, the whole body

slides down and the neck falls out of the neck holder.

In short, the guitar is not supported as I'd like when

the case is in its most usual positions.

I wouldn't buy another of these cases for a telecaster.

I'll see if I have another guitar that fits this case

better, and look for another case for the tele.

By the way, my case arrived with three small stains

on the tweed (from about pea-sized to penny-sized).

 "Guitar case" 2010-01-19
By Editor M (Hudson Valley, NY)
Quality was not up to standard. screws had fallen out of the hinges when arrived. all hinges had to be tightened. I didn't want to bother to return it because I didn't want to reorder something more expensive - wait and wait and wait - and have it arrive in the same shape. I repaired the hinges with super glue and new screws - not ideal, but I'll just try to avoid this brand/vendor in the future.

"A solid case at a very reasonable price." 2009-06-24
By James T. Walczak (Cleveland Ohio)
Ok...it's a guitar case. It's not like we're talking about a "Custom Shop" instrument here costing several thousand dollars or anything. If you are thinking about purchasing this item then chances are you already -KNOW- what it is. If not, this is a plywood construction hardshell guitar case designed for your average strat or tele style guitar (in other words, it won't fit a Les Paul). It provides a moderate degree of protection to a guitar while it's being taken from one place to another. The level of protection isn't as good as a plastic/synthetic/molded case which may be capable of protecting your cherished axe from a 20,000 foot fall from an airplane however it is CONSIDERABLY better than a simple "gig bag" which gives your instrument virtually no protection at all. In other words, if you are planning on shipping your guitar cross-country or internationally and/or your roadies have all of the grace of drunken, deranged orangutans during mating season, you -might- just want something a bit beefier...or at least a second ATA case to put this inside of. If on the other hand you're looking for something decent to take your axe to and from practice or gigs that will protect it from the average rigors associated with moving an instrument around, this is a very good way to go. The quality and workmanship are quite good, it's very attractive (assuming that you are like me and really dig tweed!) and it serves it's function and purpose very well as one would expect from a hardshell guitar case.

What makes this particular item note worthy is simply -the price-. If you've shopped around then you have probably already noticed that a "genuine Fender" case of this same style costs CONSIDERABLY more...often upwards of $150+ and in some cases (no pun intended) even the off brands can cost upwards around $100. The difference? Honestly, not much at all. The craftsmanship, the hardware and the attention to detail are all pretty comparable. The only notable difference is that a genuine Fender case has that Fender logo on the side...something that in my always and ever so humble opinion is hardly worth an extra $100+. I would have no worries at all about putting an American Standard or even a Custom Shop instrument in this case.

There are certainly those folks who really seem to believe that "you get what you pay for" who won't be content with anything except the highest priced item on the shelf (and always seem to have the dinero to pay it!). Of course there are those purists out there who have to have EVERYTHING "genuine" (as if having a logo on something such as a guitar case somehow makes it more special). If this type of snobbery isn't an issue for you and/or you're an average "working musician" simply looking for a decent hardshell at a fair price, this guitar case is an EXCELLENT value. Save that extra $100 to get your car fixed so you can make it to your next practice!

Good looks, good protection for your instrument and a great price...need I say more?

 "Decent case" 2009-05-28

Nice for the price. A little flimsy. I wouldn't be tossing in it a tour bus/trailer, but for light use it sure beats a gig bag.

 "ELITE!" 2010-09-15
By David A. Youngblood
This is a class A with all 5 stars gig bag. I own 3 professional guitars that stay in hard cases with the cheap humidifiers to keep them healthy, and they only come out to Rock and Roll. Being that I attend a home school class with Guitar College which you can search with a search engine, I wanted a cheap guitar that is light and I can carry around town while practicing my lessons from Guitar College, and you can find this college buy searching GUITAR COLLEGE on the internet. Anyway, I bought this Tweed Color because you can see it in the darkness of Bars, Restaurants, and other dark locations where you take your guitar to just tote around. I bought the Huntington Classical Guitar Limited Edition guitar without electronics which makes it lighter to carry around, and it has a 2 inch neck without the cutaway on the neck which makes me practice harder verses a regular heavy electronic electric guitar. I also used Shoe-Goo which is a glue to glue the industrial strength velcro to my Korg MA-30 Digital Metronome and the other strip was glued to the middle of the base of the front of the guitar, I also used Shoe-Goo, as I do with all of my guitar cases to glue industrial strength straps to the outside base, and to the outside upper neck of my gig bag to stop an accidental fall out of the guitar from the case if I have forgot to zip the case shut; I also used Shoe-goo to glue the Dunlop Ergo Pickholder to the guitar. I even purchased the Map Dot Stickers - Assorted Colors - 1/8" Diameter to place (not permanently, yet, but will laminate dots if decide for permanent ) on the notes by name on the neck of the guitar for visual effects to learn the neck of the guitar. Most people frown at doing this, but it is a cheaper guitar that I use for lessons, and seeing the individual places of the notes on the neck is what I am trying to achieve at learning while attending the Guitar College, and this is my own thing and not the College. The Musician's Gear Elite Series Acoustic Guitar Gig Bag Tweed is Professionally designed with Quality, and it provides a easy way to carry this light guitar around in which I would never do with my Professional Guitars which, as I have said, stay in hard cases with cheap humidifiers, and they are heavy to carry. I searched the internet today and found that all of these gig bags were gone off of the Internet, and that would be a mistake if they remain gone to the public, because it would be our loss to a good product, and their loss to making some good earned money. Three types of carry all are provided, 1. the usual hand horizontal 2. the hoop on the upper neck for hanging on a wall, and the third one is the charm and that is the good old SHOULDER STRAPS where you can pull out a music sheet from within the many pockets provided, then strap the gig bag on your back, and walk hands free while reading your music with the light guitar on your back. With the glued pickholder to my guitar, the glued Metronome to my guitar, I just simply pull my guitar out of the Musician's Gear Elite Series Acoustic Guitar Gig Bag Tweed, and I am Schooling. ROCK AND ROLL!

 "All you need." 2010-07-23
By J. Michael Phillips (Central Florida)
Got this bag thru Amazon fron Musicians Friend. It is the tweed version. Beautifully and carefully made. Better than others at many times the price. It is all you need to store or transport your instrument. Not as good as a hard case but it is a GIGBAG. I recommend it to anyone looking for good inexpensive bag.

 "Good gig bag" 2010-05-16

This thing is great. I think it has the right amount of padding to be effective and light. It has three zippered pockets in front that are very useful. Low-priced!

"Light, handy, and good protection for your guitar" 2010-01-13
By John H (Germantown, OH)
I ordered this gig bag primarily for attending guitar workshops, where you often have to carry your instrument from a dorm to an instruction hall. I've attended several of these workshops, and have noticed that many pickers have already favored this method of transporting their instruments. It's much easier on the back than using a hard shell case.

The construction of the gig bag is quite nice, with lots of padding, and easily adjustable shoulder straps that allow you to carry it backpack style. The zipper is of good quality and operates smoothly. The fit on my 12-fret, slope-shoulder dreadnaught guitar is snug, but not so tight as to make it difficult to close with the guitar inside. The built in accessory pockets are plenty large to accept your picks, capo, tuner, extra strings, and sheet music or other items that you need. There's a layer of padding between these articles and the guitar, to further protect the top of the guitar.

The best part was the price, it appears to be functionally equal to gig bags costing much more. The tweed appearance is classy, and makes it stand out from the plain fabric gig bags that you often see. I would recommend this product to anyone who intends to use it as I will. It will not give your instrument the protection of a hard case, and, of course, should not be used when you're traveling by airline or bus. For occasional use where the guitar will be in sight and conditions under your control, it's a great way to tote your guitar that's easy on the back.

"Beautiful & affordable carrying case." 2009-11-21
By GodfatherInOhio (Westlake, OH United States)
Who needs a hardshell case with this nice workaround? lotsa pockets and straps, you can hand carry it or strap it on backpack-style, too. The color is a beautiful green. It's very sturdy, made of durable cloth and has sufficient padding inside to prevent damage inside. Highly *recommend* this gig bag.

"Fine Vendor, Very Good But Narrow Stand" 2010-03-05
By P. Obrien
Music stands arrived ahead of schedule. The stand itself has a narrow base - good for my new 5-string Ibanez bass, which was too narrow for the old stands. The stand's construction was solid. However, the stand's narrow base makes the stand itself a bit less stable than a wider stand. So, if you have a normal sized bass, you might consider a different stand.

 "Best I Could Find" 2010-05-31
By J. Liu (san jose, CA)
Recently I bought a Jasmine Cutaway acoustic guitar, so I wanted to get a bag also. I started from the lowest price to find and I thought I wouldn't want to spend too much money on a guitar bag so I decided to stop at around this price range. I love this bag; it's very soft and protective. I like how there are different colors and for different guitars. My acoustic guitar fits this extremely well and I really recommend this product to guitar lovers!
