Transaction went very smoothly and arrived in time to be a Christmas gift. Great experience. Haven't actually used yet though.

Unit works ok with Windows XP but not in Windows Vista. Loads in Windows Vista but generaly fails to function. Slide copy quality is good but not great. Cheap way to slave slides and don't expect to enlarge very much once copied.

The ion worked very well for the negative scanning. Slide scans were o.k. The quality of the picture was related directly to the quality of the original negative or slide. The scanning holder trays were slow to work with but doable. If you are not in hurry the system was fine.

Many reviewers here have mentioned that the digital images produced by this device are overexposed--with which I agree. But just as importantly, all of the images that I managed to produce were very fuzzy. They lacked detail, even when the file produced was enormous (sometimes as large as 99MB).
Also, in my case, using a Vista 32-bit operating system, the installation instructions told me to do precisely the wrong thing--that is, deny the computer's prompt to autoinstall the driver software selected by Windows. When I followed the Ion scanner's instruction and ignored the Windows prompt, all I got when I attempted to calibrate the scanner was an error message saying "Windows cannot load Omni Supercam."
But when I Ignored the instructions and accepted Windows' offer to load the default driver, the device worked perfectly--that is, if you call producing washed-out, fuzzy images working perfectly.
It's going back to the store.

This product was loaded on (five) 5 individual PC's by Computer savey individuals. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME !!!!! I suggest that sales be scrapped. Even Wall-Mart refuses to sell them according to the Photo Lab Sales Reps. I would like to return it for refund, however, the time has expired. My slides are now being converted to a CD at Wall-Mart. If negative stars can be given I would give Ion -- 10 (minus 10) perhaps even lower. ION FILM 2 SD 35mm Film and Slide Scanner
