"Great product for the price" 2010-08-18

It works well. It was a little taller than my old one and I had to bend the metal contacts over to fit it in my guitar, but that was pretty easy.

 "The real deal" 2010-01-01
By C. M. Briggs (Lincoln, MO)
There's not much to say about a selector switch, other than it works. I haven't really had any bad luck with the cheaper, mostly plastic selector switches you find in some other guitars -- but this is a much sturdier proposition. You KNOW it's going to hold up.

More importantly, one of the standard modifications I like to make to my Stratocaster type guitars is the addition of a push/pull pot that lets me use the bridge and neck pickups together in parallel. (For a diagram, see Dave Burrluck's book, "The Player's Guide to Guitar Maintenance." I'm sure there must be some diagrams posted somewhere over the internet as well.)

Anyway, I don't know how to do that with the cheaper switches and there's just something comforting about having the "real deal" under the hood.

You'd better learn how to solder, though -- and watch those fingers!

"A must for your Line 6 Spider III" 2008-06-07
By Vegas Charlie (Las Vegas, NV)
This pedal is nothing fancy but essential if you don't enjoy stopping in the middle of the song to switch tone...It's very well built, compact and powers itself via the included (very long) cable. If you have a Spider III 75, this pedal will allow you to switch between channels A-D. The Spider III 75's 4 channels can each hold 9 presets (A1-A9/B1-B9 etc...). This pedal allows you navigate through the presets by going from A1 to B1 to C1 to D1. Manually move A1 to A2 on your amp, and your pedal is ready to navigate between A2 and D2 etc... Also, this pedal is very responsive and has no delay when switching between channels.

 "100% Recommended" 2008-04-18
By Andrew Ellis
I have a Line 6 Spider III 120W 2x10 amp (which I love). For changes between presets during songs, I needed some sort of footswitch. The options are this ($29), a FBV Express ($99), a FBV Shortboard ($269) or a FBV Longboard (I think it's $349 or something). The disadvantages of this one are:

(a) it only switches between 4 presets at a time rather than 36 and

(b) there are only two buttons so getting from preset 1A to 1C requires two clicks.

However, this is not a problem if you set your presets in order of how they appear in a song and make sure that each song has 4 or less presets. I have never played a song in which this was an issue.

The advantages are, of course, low price AND having a compact, reasonable pedal rather than an unwieldy giant that you don't need. In addition, this thing is sturdy and I don't think it will ever break down.

So, if I had to do it again, I definitely would. I like this amp 100% better now that I can change between presets during songs. If I didn't have access to some sort of footswitch that could do this, I'd sell the amp. That's how important this little thing is.

Good quality and performance. It is good for house practice but not good enough for live gigs.

 "Necessity for the Jamman." 2008-12-30
By T. Jones (Cedar Rapids Area, Iowa USA)
This footswitch control makes the Jamman much more usable from any playing position. Although I find the "Mode" button pretty useless, the "Up/Down" buttons are truly necessary for the operation of this unit.

If you have a Jamman, buy this too.
