"A must for your Line 6 Spider III" 2008-06-07
By Vegas Charlie (Las Vegas, NV)
This pedal is nothing fancy but essential if you don't enjoy stopping in the middle of the song to switch tone...It's very well built, compact and powers itself via the included (very long) cable. If you have a Spider III 75, this pedal will allow you to switch between channels A-D. The Spider III 75's 4 channels can each hold 9 presets (A1-A9/B1-B9 etc...). This pedal allows you navigate through the presets by going from A1 to B1 to C1 to D1. Manually move A1 to A2 on your amp, and your pedal is ready to navigate between A2 and D2 etc... Also, this pedal is very responsive and has no delay when switching between channels.

 "100% Recommended" 2008-04-18
By Andrew Ellis
I have a Line 6 Spider III 120W 2x10 amp (which I love). For changes between presets during songs, I needed some sort of footswitch. The options are this ($29), a FBV Express ($99), a FBV Shortboard ($269) or a FBV Longboard (I think it's $349 or something). The disadvantages of this one are:

(a) it only switches between 4 presets at a time rather than 36 and

(b) there are only two buttons so getting from preset 1A to 1C requires two clicks.

However, this is not a problem if you set your presets in order of how they appear in a song and make sure that each song has 4 or less presets. I have never played a song in which this was an issue.

The advantages are, of course, low price AND having a compact, reasonable pedal rather than an unwieldy giant that you don't need. In addition, this thing is sturdy and I don't think it will ever break down.

So, if I had to do it again, I definitely would. I like this amp 100% better now that I can change between presets during songs. If I didn't have access to some sort of footswitch that could do this, I'd sell the amp. That's how important this little thing is.

 "Necessity for the Jamman." 2008-12-30
By T. Jones (Cedar Rapids Area, Iowa USA)
This footswitch control makes the Jamman much more usable from any playing position. Although I find the "Mode" button pretty useless, the "Up/Down" buttons are truly necessary for the operation of this unit.

If you have a Jamman, buy this too.

"Good Pedal - one gripe" 2010-03-22
By Brock Martin
I got this pedal recently. All in all, it's a pretty nice device, expecially for the price. Seems solid and well-made. It has a nice big pedal for big feet. It works smoothly. I have found no drawbacks to the operation or quality of this pedal. My only gripe, is that the power for the pedal is either by an internal 9V battery, or a 12V plug in power supply. Why the difference? The really bad part (for me) is that I bought this to install in a newly-purchased Behringer pedal board, which comes with a 9V power supply. So, in order for me to use this pedal in the board, I will have to run two different power supplies, or run the pedal on battery and everything else off of the pedalboard's power supply. [Behringer...this was not thought out very well.] I'm now in the process of making myself an voltage adapter, but finding all the right parts has proven so far to be a hassle. Bottom line: the pedal itself is great, but the power supply thing could be a frustration to you.

One final note about Behringer...they seem to get bad marks now and then. I really don't understand why. I have two Behringer amps, two of their stomp boxes, the above-mentioned pedal board, and the volume pedal just discussed. I really like all of them. I have never had any problem with any of these items. They perform well, are well made, and certainly, all came at a reasonable price. Behringer's full range of products is so extensive, that I see little reason to buy any other brand. I'm sticking with them.

"Surprisingly good for the money" 2010-02-20
By S. Dragseth (Seattle WA United States)
i have a Hog guitar syn that came with an m-audio exp pedal.M-Audio EX-P Expression Pedal(they should be ashamed of themselves) It broke like everybody elses. It worked pretty good but when u take it apart and look at the plastice piece that breaks, u wont buy another one either. So i bought this one. I had to make a cable and reverse the wires, i used stereo headphone jacks and and headphone cable cut into and and reversed the wires. If i had been smarter i could have used the wire from the m-audio pedad with mini headhpne jacks i/8 inch pluch the regular ones 1/4 with i/8 adapter but i was so upset i threw the whole thing out without thinking! I actually prefer the throw or the distance on the old pedal but i guess u cant have every thing. its very smooth. Ive tried it as a volume control also , seems to work but i dont use it for that. Most behringer stuff u will luv it or send it back right away from what ive heard. im an amateur, i have some mikes, a midi foot controller fcb1010 , a condenser preamp, i havent sent anything back yet. Their equimpent is a little Spartan sometimes but if u know what your getting usually u wont be disapointed at the price of their stuff to the competiton.

"Performs well and is very versatile" 2010-02-06
By Mr. Amazed (Mexicali, Baja California Mexico)
I have always wanted a volume pedal but thougt they were too expensive. I recently started playing electric guitar again, so I unpacked my effects (a digitech RP50). I needed a passive volume pedal to exploit the digitech's whammy, octave and wah effects but since my plaing needs don't require to spend 80 to a 100 bucks on an on-the-go rig, I opted for this unit. I am very comfortable with this pedal, it has the same size as my old Dunlop Crybaby wah and I can use it in many ways! I can plug it into my keyboard and use it as a modulator or volume pedal, thus having more control of it when I play or compose.

It is very rugged, made of plastic and rubber but I still have to use it some more to see how it withstands the test of time.

To install a nine-volt battery you have to dissasemble the bottom of the pedal by unscrewing a single screw, which goes through a small metal piece. (Note the way this piece is assembled though, or you'll have to figure out how it all goes togheter again). I was very pleased with its performance as soon as I figured out how to hook it up to my effects processor(RP50) but still, I have to test it in recording.

 "Great for midi rigs!" 2009-01-21
By Rojago (USA)
For the price, this pedal is extremely hard to beat. Works really well for controlling the Rocktron gear in my guitar rig. One caution, my use for this is just as a CV controller... none of my guitar signal goes through the pedal. I've heard complaints elsewhere that this pedal can suck tone in a big way, so if you are planning on using it as an in-line device between your guitar and an amp do your homework before buying. For my app, (sending a voltage signal to the Voodu Valve), this works great. It doesn't require a battery to run as a CV controller, and it has a lot more metal on it than I expected for the price, reasonably weighty and stays put while you're using it. Pedal feel is just fine for volume swells or working the sweep of the wah. Treadle stays put, so if you are going for the half-cocked wah sound, this'll do it just fine. Highly recommended for this particular application.

"Say Bye-Bye to 60Hz Hum - Kink Free and Lies Flat" 2009-03-18
By D. C. Johnson (Indiana)
I have a pair of 6' BL2A TRS-TRS (shown here), a pair of 15' BL2A TRS-TRS and a pair of 20' BLUC TRS-XLR (all balanced). All are kink free, route well, and lie flat. The shielding is superb - after replacing unbalanced cables with these, the 60 Hz hum that had been plaguing my setup disappeared.

I'm using the cables with the following equipment: an M-Audio ProFire 610, four (4) M-audio BX5a 5-inch studio reference monitors, and an M-Audio BX10s 10-inch sub. (The extra TRS-XLR cable allows me to switch from stereo to 5.1 surround production entirely within the ProFire without rewiring the speakers.)
