The capo looks nice and feels really well made. I like the small size because it doesn't look cumbersome on the guitar. However, the small size means you have to be patient making it fit just right on the strings. Otherwise, in your haste, you'll miss one string.

Simple, well-executed products like this are hard to come by these days. These Shubb capos are low-profile and elegant, substantially smaller than that other popular capo (Kyser). They include a tension adjustment that gives me confidence that I am not applying too much pressure to my frets. The high-quality rubber pieces (that have yet to show signs of wear) instill similar confidence.
While some prefer the quick scissor-style of the Kysers, I like the action of these much better. The Shubb has a lever in the back and applies no pressure to the neck until this piece is engaged. This means that the capo can be positioned fully (and easily) and *then* pressure is applied all at once evenly across the neck. Because of this, bending strings and intonation problems are not an issue here.
Since many keep their capos parked on their headstocks, I will note that the Shubb does *not* fit on the headstock of my Seagull guitar. If you know anything about Seagull, though, you probably know that they make a non-standard funny-looking headstock. It fits just fine on the neck of Segaull, of course. I have also successfully parked it many times on the more standard headstock shapes of most other guitars.

I've only been playing guitar for a few months and came across sheet music (Johnny Cash) I wanted to play. Most of the songs were written for capo so I purchased this product. The price was right and I received the product in just a couple of days using standard delivery. It's easy to use and is small enough such that it doesn't interfere with finger positions on the fret board. And it looks good too!

I've been through a lot of capos and this is the nicest one I've used. Once you adjust the capo, it just slips on easily with no further adjustment. You can tune through the capo, at least as well as you can expect which is never quite as good as with no capo. Once it's tuned, it holds the tuning well.
Regarding the "partial capo" that simulates DADGAD and open-A, it's an interesting idea, but anyone who is getting it to play songs they already know should realize that it isn't usable for any song that makes use of the second fret of the open strings (because capo blocks access to them). Unfortunately, that's all the songs I know in these tunings. However, someday when I have to time to try to learn new songs that take this into account, I think it's a neat idea that could be useful.
