Since its introduction, the Pandora series has been acclaimed by guitarists and bassists for its high-quality sound, versatile functionality, and superb user interface in an amazing pocket-sized package. Combining both guitar and bass effects into a single unit, the PX4D delivers a major leap in functionality as well. Its comprehensive range of sounds includes vintage amps and a wide range of cabinets, as well as effects ranging from classic to distinctively unique. The PX4D is a great choice not only for practicing, but for any situation that demands great guitar or bass sound, including recording and live performance. The PX4D contains 158 effects that deliver vintage amp sounds and much more. From high-end tube amps to rare vintage amps and classic favorites, the 25 amp types faithfully model the amp sounds that guitarists and bassists seek. Each of the 23 cabinet effects that reproduce the acoustic and structural resonances of a speaker cabinet were newly created especially for the PX4D.The creative possibilities are limitless – you can even combine a guitar amp with a bass cabinet. In addition to standards such as compressor and wah, there are numerous realistic modeling effects that deliver a versatile range of tones. Pickup modeling transforms the sound of a single-coil pickup into that of a humbucking pickup (or vice versa), a guitar (bass) synth that lets you play synth sounds, an intelligent pitch shifter that automatically harmonizes with your playing, a talk effect that produces the impression that your guitar is speaking, a slow attack effect that creates violin-type swells, a feedback effect that allows feedback playing techniques that are normally possible only at high volumes, a rotary speaker that changes speed in response to your picking or fingering dynamics, a fretless bass effect that simulates the distinctive sound of a fretless bass, and many more are ready for your use.

 "Awesome little box!" 2010-03-30
By Corey B. Cather (Carlsbad, CA)

The Korg PX4D is a great little multi-effects processor for any guitarist or bass player! I bought mine to use when travelling mated to my Lapstick guitar. I spend hours on this thing and never tire of finding new ways to use it and new sounds for inspiration. It has a tuner, amp modeling, 100 user and 100 preset effects...and tons of great features I haven't even discovered yet.

I'd recommend this device for any guitarist...for practice or performance use. It's like a whole truck load of effects and amps/cabinets in a box the size of a pack of cigarettes.

Amazon's price is the best on the net!

"No verb, mod, delay at once" 2010-04-21
By David A. Billings (usa)
This unit sounds great. Great VERB, MODULATION, AND DELAY. . HOWEVER. .does ZOOM not realize that some guitarists want ALL THREE in their sound at the same time??. . thats a no brainer. .ESPECIALLY by now in 2010. . . you can have two of the three simultaneously. . but not all three. . in a pedal that is SUPPOSEDLY designed for performance. . .that is RIDICULOUS. .shame on ZOOM. I have to link a separate CHORUS pedal to have CHORUS,DELAY AND VERB AT THE SAME TIME. . shame on ZOOM.

"I'M BLOWN AWAY, worth every penny!" 2010-03-12
By Keith E. (California)
I was very skeptical ordering this product because I bought the Zoom electric processor & was not impressed. However I must say I am totally blown away by how well this unit works out of the box. Most of these processors are packed full of over-done processed sounds that needs lots of tweaking so you don't sound like you're playing in outer space. Two days after I got this unit & less than an hour playing & barely having to fiddle around with it I was jamming live in front of 500 people that weekend, and at least 5 of the factory settings were usable without any tweaking at all! It was like my acoustic guitar, only better, sweeter & more vibrant sounding. Not overdone, not too spacey nor too much reverb, just a little more color & better EQ & sound quality. I got several comments from my band members about how good the acoustic guitar sounded.

The unit has some cool modeling features so you can have your guitar sound like the standard Martin D-28 or Gibson dreadnought & others. What I also really like about this unit is it has REVERB, EQ, CHORUS, DELAY, MODELING, PICKUP SELECTION, AND VERY IMPORTANT: a COMPRESSOR! This is a must for live performances, compression smooths out your sound. Many of the other more expensive acoustic processors make the terrible mistake of leaving off either reverb or a compressor.

You could spend more month but I doubt you'd get a better unit? Forget the Zoom electric processor & definitely get this one for your acoustic, its a great unit.

One bad thing--these things eat batteries (if you leave them plugged in with the cords). I was surprised it sucked a fresh set of batteries dead in one weekend with only about a couple hours of playing time, apparently because I left the guitar cable plugged in overnight. But unit does come with an AC adapter. I dont have need for a volume pedal so I skipped the more expensive version, although that unit does come with a XLR (mic cable) jack which eliminates the need for a Direct Box on stage (necessary for maintaining the signal over long cable runs)

Enjoy, thanks for reading.

I used this plus an old zoom bass pedal exclusively for all the acoustic & electric guitars on St Vytus' cd Supercool. I mothballed all my other pedals. I love it & I never even bothered programmimg my own sounds. They should give me an endorsement deal & loads of free stuff. The only drag with multi effects is scrolling through fron A1 to D12

"Good value for the price" 2010-03-31
By Martin Goldberg (Lawrenceville, NJ)
This is a capable pedal with many immediately useable patches. I have not spent much time customing the patches but there seems to be enough capability in this unit to improve and adjust to your taste. Considering the relatively low price/performance ratio, this feature-rich decent quality pedal is a great buy for the musician hobbiest.

"Great buy for the $$" 2010-03-08
By K. Bennett (Little Rock, AR USA)
This is a great pedal, whether you are a new player or a seasoned vet. Unlike most pedals in this price range it keeps a full set of the original presets in a user accessible ROM, so you can tweak to your hearts content without risk of losing a favorite patch. Built in tuner is always handy, the drum machine, while nothing I would want to record with is a nice touch for when you can't get together with your band.

It will take you awhile to learn the various functions, especially if you are coming from the traditional multi pedal setup, but it is worth your time. really easy to dial in great sounds for both 4 and 5 string basses, just an all around great pedal. Oh and you can assign the volume pedal to be just about anything you desire, from volume to distortion level to phase sweep and can be completely different from patch to patch. If you need great sounds in an easy to tote around package look no further, here is your new baby!

Oh as an addition: My favored amp had to go to the shop for a month as it needed some caps replaced. All I had in the meantime was an old junker solid state Casino and the mixing board. Thanks to the Zoom even with this far less than optimal setup I was able to get clean tones good enough to do some recording and live gigs! It really is a steal for the price, reliable, clean sounding, just an all around great pedal for any bassist.

"A lot of fun after 1 day" 2009-11-12
By T Tracy (ELMWOOD, IL USA)
I just received the Zoom B1X. I quickly drove to church to mess with it. The drum machine is very adequate and easy to use. I ran through a couple of new songs and the drum beats help immensely. Many of the bass presets are very serviceable. The others, I just had a lot of fun with. I love how the pedal affects the primary effect of the preset chain. The sound is clean, no hiss from any of the presets...I played with all of them. There is a sheet listing the presets and explaining the reasoning, very cool. I used the manual to figure out how to adjust the drums, and for various tweaks. I will probably need to have the manual handy for a bit, but it is not complicated. I'm very happy so far, and hope it holds up. I use an Ibanez bass, and Behringer BX1800 amp. Don't let low prices fool you on name brands like Zoom or Behringer. I also love my amp. Very clean and rich sounding compared to amps I have tried from Fender, Acoustic, and SWR (which have disappointed me, though they were older models).

 "Best value in Multi-FX" 2009-09-14
By Jack
This pedal far exceeds all of my expectations. While this pedal isn't as sturdy (the B1 is hard plastic and the B2 is metal) as the B2X by zoom, the price more than makes up for it (Almost half the price of the B2). You absolutely cannot get a better value than this from any other multi-FX units. The best thing about this pedal is that it has great response time. With any multi unit you come across, you will have problems with slow switching between patches. I have had a few bass processors from the Zoom 707, Korg, and Digitech. None of these can hold a candle to the B1s speed. I did own the B2 and it is even faster. The distortions of this unit are the best. Usually the distortions for bass are muddy or too trebly but with this unit you can mix in your original clean signal in with the dirty. One of the cool things that I have discovered is that if you leave the know on the mix selection you can turn off the mix and go straight clean instantaneously. This is very useful in the that you don't have to setup multiple clean patches or try to hit both button to shut it off! The other function such as wah, phaser, and Chorus are very nice and quite useable. The rest such as pitch shifter, octave, and synth are just for novelty and I can't image why anyone would want that. You can sound like a cello with this thing though and that is very cool. The drum machine is a great feature that helps you with your timing and practicing. The foot pedal is a must and is super useful and well worth the extra 20 dollars when choosing between the B1 and the B1x. Zoom is the master of all Multi-fx processors so don't bother with anything else.

I couldn't be happier with this effects pedal. I was originally just looking for a distortion pedal and ran across this by accident. It got great reviews so figured I'd try it out. It arrived today and I've been goofing around with it for hours now. The sound is amazing. The built in patch effects make it like I have a stack of dedicated effects pedals. Really easy to use. I know I'll have a blast creating my own once I get around to it but with the sounds that came with it, it might be awhile! Worth 4x the price.

 "Amazing bargain" 2009-11-02
By Brian Hinkle (Wichita, KS)
The Zoom G1n is an absolutely amazing pedal for $50!! You won't regret this purchase. The pre-programmed sounds are good, and there's alot of variety, plus it is very easy to make-up and store your own sounds, too. I don't know how the G1n pre-programmed sounds compare to the original G1, but there are plenty of useable sounds for just about any style you want to play. Some are a bit over the top for me, so most of my own sounds are a little mellower. The tuner is great, and the drum machine is good, too (though I don't use it much). My only complaints are that the ZNR noise reduction seems a bit agressive to me, and I wish the housing was metal not plastic. I kinda wish I'd spent the extra money on the G2-- may have to upgrade later! But it still gets 5 stars. I bought the Zoom over the comparable digitec pedal because it has a nicer interface and it comes with a power plug included. This thing works great and makes any cheapo solid state practice amp sound way better than it is!! You would have to buy tons of stomp-boxes to get close to what you can do with this cool pedal. Recommended.

I remember the 1970's, and if you had $200 to burn you could

go to the local music store (there was no public internet at

that time) and buy one effect, a FuzzFace or perhaps a Wa-Wa

pedal. Yes, $200 for each effect (if you wanted the good one).

Today, we have the Zoom G1N and I gotta tell ya folks, it has

a compressor, chorus, delay, and 51 other effects, a good

sounding drum machine, a tuner ... whooooooosh .... just buy it.

with all my love,

 "Works Good...When It Works" 2010-03-30
By D. Gusmer
I bought this a week before I switched to Windows 7. I was using it on Windows Vista Business 64bit and it worked great along with Traktor Pro, however, it doesn't seem to like Windows 7 at all. This could just be a Traktor problem, but all my drivers are up to date and such. When it did work, the sound quality was amazing. I reformatted last night to Windows 7 64bit and have yet to try it out, but I hope it works better than it did on 32bit. If you can it to work, then it is a great product that I would highly recommend. I have many friends that use this, and the week I did have it working it was amazing.

 "Awesome Sound Card!!!" 2009-11-01
By G. Monroy (Houston, TX)
Not sure what the problem was with the guy who said this soundcard doesn't work with Virtual DJ. I use it for gigs and they work perfectly. Granted I am a computer professional and you do have to set the latency to accomodate your laptop (if it's slow, increase the latency). I have a super fast laptop penryn Core 2 processor Ocd to 2.59GHZ with 6MB of L2 cache 4Gigs of PC5300 SoDimm RAM and a 500gig HD. Yes I put this monster together go to [...]

Virtual DJ works great, so does Deckadance, you name it. I've had soundcards from MOTU, Indigo, Creative, all great but the simplicity and small form factor (except the Indigo DJx PCI Express - that thing is almost too small but also sounds amazing) and the fact that it has RCA outs configurable for your mains (2 virtual turntables if you want to pipe them out to an external mixer - you name it) and 1/4in outs for your headphones and 1/4in in for a mic. This thing rocks!!

"No frills, easy to set up interface" 2009-04-09
By Michael Mrowca (Orange, CA)
This product does exactly what it says it does. It creates a second output channel to monitor cue tracks in various DJ and music production software. By allowing you to route directly to headphones, you can preview what will be played next before sliding the cross fader over. Set up is simple and can be done in minutes (very intuitive even for novice DJ's and musicians). Directly connect to your monitors/speakers through the back, headphones go in the front, USB to the computer, run the software and you're ready to rock!

I had no problem using this device with Ableton Live 7, Traktor Pro or Virtual DJ 3. I am running a Gateway laptop with Windows Vista. Other reviewers who have had difficulties with this unit either had out of date drivers for the hardware and/or software or were using hacked warez versions that make USB support difficult and sketchy.

I recommend getting a USB MIDI mixer to use with your software of choice to truly take advantage of this interface.

"It doesnt work with virtual dj or traktor pro" 2009-03-10
By Julio A. Cadena

My computer just crashes after 30 min that I been using it with dj io along with virtual dj or traktor pro.I have a new macbook 10.5

It just freezes my computer and you have to restart it. (Thats not so pro in the middle of a gig.)

So I called the people from Numark who by the way were very rude, and they just told me that in order to make it work I would have to get the new version from virtual dj and that means spending more money! So I'm just guessing that in order to be able to keep using their products you have to pay each time they come up with something new!!!

Very disapointing!!!!
