The Rode SM2 shockmount fits the NTK, Classic II, and NT1000 microphones. RODE Microphones History and Company Philosophy RODE Microphones evolved from the Freedman Group of Companies, established in 1967 by Henry and Astrid Freedman, after immigrating to Australia from Sweden. Freedman Electronics was a pioneer in the Australian audio industry for the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of a diverse range of audio products. Loudspeakers, amplifiers, custom electronics and microphones were all a part of the company's expertise; all of which took place within the confines of the small but unique Australian market. Ongoing microphone research and development within Freedman Electronics, both in the laboratory and in the field, would later drive the ambition to design and produce superior microphone products. In 1990, the decision was made to produce and market the first RODE microphone. Before the explosion of the home recording market, there were very few established and respected manufacturers of professional recording quality (condenser) microphones. Those previous 'market-leaders' produced premium product that also carried a premium price. Why were they so expensive??? Well, the market at that time was small, and considerable investment had to be recouped from a limited customer base. RODE's early manufacturing coincided with the emergence of the much larger home recording and project studio markets. The company was aware; that by using the latest technologies, and the best design and engineering staff, production quantities could be produced which would achieve previously unheard of economies of scale. In 1998, having established itself as a leading force in this emerging market, RODE Microphones moved into a new purpose-built 20,000 sq ft factory and offices near the home of Sydney 2000 Olympics. The premises allowed for the necessary increases in electronic production, assembly, warehousing, d

"Samson SPO$ Shockmount for G Track USB Mic" 2009-11-09
By D. G. Elliott
The SP04 Shockmount for the G Track USB Mic is well constructed and simple to use. The user should, however, be cautious when connecting the Samson G Track Mic to the Shockmount because the inner sleeve of the microphone, if not tight, can easily come out when you try to unscrew the Shockmount housing connection. Although there are no threads that would logically allow this to happen, it can happen because the Mic and the Shockmount are so "snug" fitting! When you try to unscrew the mic, the inner sleeve of the mic becomes attached to the shock mount and comes out with the shockmount! All in all this is a very nicely manufactured shockmount. It is very functional and looks great with the Samson G Track Mic.

I had a basic mount that came with the Samson mic I received for Christmas. Unfortunately it broke after just a few months. The new shockmount is not only more sturdy, but the sound is better too!

The Ringer is a custom designed shockmount for Blue's complete line of spherical microphones; the ball, the 8-ball and the soon-to-be-released kickball and snowball. The Ringer is a vintage-style suspension mount designed to isolate the microphone body from low-frequency energy when mounted on a microphone stand. The Ringer also accommodates virtually any microphone with a standard thread mount. The Ringer is also a true universal shockmount - if the microphone will fit through the loop, it can be mounted in The Ringer by virtue of its unique universal thread mount.  "Nice Addition to Great Mic" 2010-03-16
By C. J. Bockay (Chicago IL USA)
I've already reviewed the Blue Snowball microphone and my feedback was quite favorable. I debated whether I wanted to spend an additional $40 on this shockmount because I did not detect any low frequency sounds coming through on my recordings. However, I did want something that would raise the height of the microphone. Even with fully extending the tripod that was provided with the Snowball mic, I was still bending my neck downward into the mic. This shockmount raises the mic a couple inches and it now is aligned perfectly with my mouth. Besides that, it really makes my studio look pretty sharp! I have not had any issues with the side tightening pin as others have reported.

 "Needs more work" 2009-12-13
By Todd M. Wilkinson (Avon,IN USA)
The shock part of this is fine, but the mount part needs a lot of work.

Problem 1) Once locked in, the mount part of it wobbles back and forth. It's loose and no amount of tightening will fix it, looks like they tried already and stripped out the screws at the plant. Now Blue was very accommodating and sent me a new one which is better but it still will wobbles about a 1cm back and forth at the top. I ended up using some super glue to stop this. At home this is ok, but in a studio or regular recording use it probably won't stand up for long.

Problem 2) The swivel arm, you just cant get it tight enough. The screw is made of very soft metal and the swivel is flat metal on flat metal so it never really gets right enough and a good push will knock it over. Once it's on a mic swivel arm I don't think it will last long. It might but I'm not sure.

Pro * It does the isolation part well and if I can keep it immobile it will do a fine job, just needs an update (version #2 ? )

 "The Rattler" 2009-06-13
By Brian J. Buehler (Michigan, USA)
This looked like a good product and a great match for the Snowball microphone. However, upon fastening the Snowball to the center ring microphone mount, I noticed a rattling noise anytime the assembly was moved. Turned out the metal bracket that the microphone mounts to was wobbly in the center (isolated) ring and would make a rattling sound if the shockmount was moved in the slightest. Tightening the screws that hold the mount to the inner ring seemed like a good idea except that the design kept things from clamping tighter together. Adding shims would have solved the problem but seems inappropriate given the price of this shockmount.

Since zero stars is not an option, I rate this product a one star and have returned it.

 "Beware!" 2009-05-15
By zaria (Dallas, Tx United States)
I love the snowball microphone. It does all that it is supposed to do. The Ringer is a sharp looking item which also does what it is supposed to do. The problem I have had with the Ringer is the thumb screw on the side. It is made of a soft metal and broke easily. All I need to make my Ringer work is a new thumb screw. I have REPEATEDLY emailed and explained the problem and requested a new thumb screw, which they have happily agreed to send me. But nearly six months later, I still do not have the simple thumb screw and I still am unable to use the Ringer with my Snowball. Recently, I have needed another microphone and I thought I would get the Baby Blue Bottle condenser mic, but after the awful experience I have had with Blue, I won't buy one. A company can have a great product but if they can't deliver on basic customer service, then they can not get my repeat business. I would not even be making this review if I had simply received a thumb screw so I could use the Ringer. Therefore, if you buy this product just be aware that if you have even a small problem you will be on your own to solve it.

"WOrks great for isolation, kind of Big though" 2009-04-15
By K. Giles
This is a fantastic Shock-mount. I bought it to go with my Snowball, but it also works well with the blueball and any other mic with a mic clip that you need isolated.

She is kind of big, so on camera not as classy or stylish as I would like.

WHat else can I say. It's a shock mount. LOL.

 "Sturdy Shock Mount" 2009-10-27
By T. Lindsay Foster (Charlotte, North Carolina United States)
I use the Samson SP01 shock mount with my Audio Technica 2020USB microphone. As another reviewer suggested, I placed three small self-adhesive pads between the shock mount and the mic to eliminate the slight wobble of the mic. The SP01 shock mount is sturdy and well-made. I am very pleased with it.

 "Attractive & Functional" 2009-09-22

Samson SP01 Shockmount = 5 STARS

I bought this Samson SP01 Shockmont to use with my Audio Tecnica AT2020USB microphone. It looked as though the two pieces would fit together, but they don't. Not very well anyway. Because of the construction of the mic, it would not tighten down enough to keep from wiggling around. So I took a rubber gasket made for a typical garden hose and used it for a spacer. It them tightened down perfectly. Problem solved. Now the two pieces work perfectly and in harmony together.

This Audio Technica AT2020USB Condenser USB Microphone works beautifully. Just plug it in to any USB and off you go. How easy is that? The sensitivity is great and fully adjustable.

This Shock Mont does what it is supposed to do and eliminate vibration and exterior noise that can translate into your recording. Although the two pieces are different colors, they look great together. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

5 STARS

When you get it, it looks so simple, so basic that you can't believe that it doesn't come with the mic, but companies got to make their money right? I use it with my Samson CL8 condenser and it is perfect. Works great for podcasting, vocals or anything else you want to record. The adjustment knob is a little tight but whatever, it does its job well.
