"WTF? How could this be recommended along with Yamaha NP30??!!" 2010-01-15
By Fidelixi (Southern California)
It spits in the face of the whole web shopping experience that this is suggested to complement the keyboard. IT SUCKS! The directions are mind-blowingly incomprehensible. They literally don't make any sense at all, referring to elements that don't exist. The keyboard, as others have noted, rests on top of it, which doesn't sound so bad (unless you have a dog running around, or a 5-year old whom you just bought this for - that would be our situation!) but it is bad b/c the bard that it rests on are even. They have caps so it's at different heights plus the metal bars have no grip at all so they keyboard rests between the caps and slides across the bars from front to back. Effin brilliant! Too much of a hassle to box up and ship back. Oh yeah, no manufacturer, address, customer service... no one to call and yell at. Frustrating. Annoying. Really annoying.

"Great double X stand for the price" 2009-12-19
By D. H. Ross (North Carolina)
Setup was easy as long as you realized that the screws were pre-installed in the unit and needed to be removed to complete installation.

Saw several reviews from people that needed glasses!!

Disappointed that the keyboard didn't fit stand but found references to using velcro strips that will help stabilize the stand.

Good value for the price.

 "awful product" 2009-12-11
By John Mcwilliams
I received this stand, missing parts and no instructions. It was obviously previously returned, and reshipped without anyone checking it's contents. I am really suprised that Amazon shipped this totaly defective product. I have had good experience with Amazon in the past. Now I keep trying to return it, I got a RGA, but it is gatherning dust on my porch, since the UPS Driver has not come by to get it, nor has UPS called me to say the driver is coming out. I have to believe that Amazon has not made any arrangement for its return.

"Sturdy but does not secure the keyboard" 2009-10-15
By Massachusetts Customer
I like keyboard stand. I think it is a good deal but I am disappointed that it does not have some sort of clamp system at the end of each of the two top support bars. They are too wide to fit the grooves on the underside of the keyboard and there is no clamping system at each of their ends that would secure the keyboard in place. The stand and keyboard configuration is secure enough for normal use but the keyboard could slide off if pushed for some reason by a child or inconsiderate adult.

"not compatible with Yamaha keyboard" 2009-08-17
By Bryan S. Evans (Twin Falls, ID)
The title says it all. We went with the Double X because it looked more stable than the single. I know it's sounds funny but the Yamaha keyboard does not fit on the stand like it should. There are grooves under the keyboard that the stand should lock into. We have tried all sides of the stand but nothing works. The single would be more stable than the double if it fit right.

"Not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit; get samson Go Mic" 2010-01-24
By Shenron
Before I purchased this product, I browsed through amazon reviews and saw competing claim with regards to whether this product works with windows 7 or not. After getting this microphone for myself and trying to make it work with my laptop for a few hours, I can vouch for other users who have been claiming this product being incompatible with windows 7.

Specifically, this product does not work with Toshiba A505 laptop with windows 7 64bit home premium version installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled my sound drivers several times, but the laptop refuses to acknowledge that the microphone is plugged in.

In addition, Blue microphone website does not offer any disclaimer about this product being incompatible with windows 7. I guess claiming support for vista and xp is a roundabout way of saying that the microphone is incompatible with windows 7.

I would recommend Samson Go mic as a suitable replacement for snowflake. It works perfectly with windows 7 64 bit.

 "Dell PC owners beware" 2010-01-12
By InfidelForJesus (Somewhere, USA)
I read the glowing reviews so I purchased one. I thought mine came DOA, so I exchanged it. Same results. So this time, I did two things differently. First, I tried the microphone in my Toshiba laptop instead of my Dell XPS 420 desktop PC. It worked. Next, I contacted XPS Support and spent about 30 minutes with support. The tech verified that both front and rear USB ports were working and a lot of other things. So he tried to refer me to their paid support option. Well, I'm not going to buy a $250 contract for a $45 microphone! I returned it and concluded that these puppies aren't compatible with Dells. Then I read the 1-star reviews and one other person had similar experiences with his Dell, so that confirmed it for me.

It's too bad because these babies sure get a lot of hype. Not sure what I'll do next.

Been wanting an easy plug and play solution to recording musical ideas. This wasn't it! The mic didn't work straight out of the box. Tried it on two lap tops, Mac and PC. I got a device driver message that said, "the device has malfunctioned." Returned it to Amazon for a replacement and the second one didn't work! Amazon should be paying my complete return shipping costs on this piece of junk! I lost money on this product! I called the Blue mic company and complained. I'm also in the process of writing them a letter. This is inexcusable to have two in a row fail. Don't buy it save yourself the heartache and return shipping costs.

 "Outstanding Product" 2010-02-10
By Joseph Radziszewski (Gray, ME USA)
I just received my Samson Go Mic two days ahead of schedule and I could not be happier. I took it out of its impressive package, clipped it to my Asus Netbook which I am running on Ubuntu Linux, plugged it into a USB port set my sound preference and away I went. For the last two hours I have been playing my mandolin and singing at my computer and playing back on my stereo speakers. The sound is clean and natural. I can't believe this little gem only cost me fifty bucks (it's worth the ninety list price).

I am set up next to a noisy heater that the mic has not picked up when I have it set at either cardioid setting. When I set it for omni-directional, I walked fifteen feet away and it picked me up clearly without me raising my voice.

The mic's actual size is similar to a large pencil eraser. It folds into itself for storage in a nice little case that come with it. It is a sturdy, serious piece of equipment.

Yee Haw, highly, highly recommended!

 "Great everyday microphone" 2010-02-01
By Aleksandrs Zdancuks (Riga, Latvia)
This microphone is great everyday solution. I used it with my MacBook and with my Ubuntu-powered desktop workstation. Both ways it works flawlessly.

I like it travel case, the way I hold it in my hand or the way it can be attached. Clip is not so big, to attach a mic to a standart office display, but it holds on my laptop display fine.

It is not very noisy, even less noisy than I've expected. Travel case is really sexy, so it is not a problem for me to hold it with me every day I go somewhere. Podcasting from a cafe or a restaurant is fun.

"Definitely Not Good Enough for Voice Recognition Software" 2010-01-07
By John Kitchens (Lexington, KY)
I recently purchased this mobile microphone in hopes it would provide me with a good, portable way to use voice recognition software on my laptop computer. I use both Mac Speech Dictate and Dragon NaturallySpeaking on my MacBook Pro. I get excellent quality out of my Olympus ME31, Samson Airliner 77 as well as a couple of other wired microphones. They are usually both 96 to 98% accurate. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this USB microphone. At best, you get around 80% accuracy -- simply not good enough to use with voice dictation software. I've also tried Blue Snowflake USB microphone and it is just as bad. At this point, the only real good portable solution would be the more expensive Olympus ME31 along with a small USB adapter.

"Exellent mic for the money" 2009-12-27
By Kalaab (Illinois)
In the realm of digital recording, the idea of a USB-powered condenser mic was really just an inevitability, but Samson has truly impressed me with their Go Mic. This little microphone has a surprisingly rich sound to it, and captures an impressive dynamic range. The transducer is a mere 10mm, but don't let the diminutive size of it fool you; you can capture some high-quality, professional sounds with this microphone. I use mine primarily as a to-go mic for my laptop recording studio, capturing vocals and guitars with it.

One caveat I would like to mention about using this device in a multitrack context: the use of the default driver for this device is definitely not recommended. Check out ASIO4ALL, a free driver that recognizes your audio hardware and gives them a generic but highly effective ASIO driver, which cuts down on latency big time. Definitely avoid the default Windows driver if you're looking for performance.

The great thing about this microphone is that it has a headphone jack on it, which further reduces the effects of latency in a multitrack context. While it does not reduce latency per se, it can remove the latency between what you hear out of your speakers, making multitrack recordings well-timed. The headphone jack was the deciding factor between this and the Blue Snowflake, which is similarly priced. I have no experience with the Snowflake, but I know it does not have a headphone jack and its clip with which to mount the mic on a laptop is free-hanging, not spring-loaded like the Go Mic. The thing I love about the Go Mic's clip is it will attach to either the top or the side of your LCD screen, which is handy.

If you're a musician who travels with any frequency, definitely look into the Go Mic. You can't go wrong for the price, and its size is tiny enough to stow away in even the smallest laptop bag (even netbook bags). The quality of sound is great, too. This product, alongside my Korg nanoKEY, makes studio productions on the road a reality for me, and I'm thrilled with my purchase.

"Very Good for DJing, finicky for more ambitious applications" 2010-02-24
By DJ Arnoldo (Manassas, VA United States)
I use the Fast Track Pro ("the box") simply as a high sample rate D/A converter and pre-amp between my Macbook running OS X 10.4.11 and the M-Audio 1.7-2v2 driver, and my (fabulous) Mackie mixer feeding a pair of (fabulous) Mackie 500W powered speakers. (Note: a new driver update v1.8 is available.) In this application the sound quality is superb, which is why I use it and not a cheaper USB or Firewire interface or the native Macbook sound card (which sounds pretty good as laptop sound cards go).

Even in this simple application, I have found the box to be finicky, and on three occasions in three years I have had to power down the box, reboot my Macbook, then reboot the box and get everything working again (in the middle of a gig!). Things that crashed the Macbook while running the box were as simple as switching back and forth between iTunes and other applications, or the sound engineer doing something on his board that somehow got back into my rig and crashed the Macbook (!).

If you use the box as a glorified sound card like I do, the sound is superb and performance stable enough if you run nothing but the box driver and iTunes, and you dont mess with the PA equipment while youre DJing.

BTW, dont even think of connecting your unpowered dynamic mic to the box to mix in a voiceover; the channel input gain knob is highly non-linear and swings from inaudible to clipped (there is something wrong with the internal impedance matching between the input channels). Some DJs report better results using a condenser mic powered by the box's 48 V phantom power, but what do DJs know ;-) I much prefer mixing in my voiceover using the mic channel on the Mackie mixer.

By Saul Garber (Porto Alegre - Brazil)
It's a good product.

I just think that there are some... kind of errors in the communication.

1.- In any place say that after installation you must left the device on. If you turn on the computer with the FTP off, the audio devices doesn't work. I spent a whole day trying to make the audio work and only the next day - 'cause i forgot to turn FTP off - I had all the resources working.

2.- The Pro Tools M-Powered 7 Demo it's a f****** trick. Why they didn't say that saving and exporting were deactivated? I could avoid install that useless deception.

Live Lite, even it's almost a demo too, didn't have those paranoid attitude.

This is a great amp....if you understand what you're getting. All I wanted was the ability to make my electric guitar louder, and this does the trick perfectly. It can be dialed down so that you can just barely hear it, it can also be loud enough to clear the pets from your living room. My favorite part of this amp is the distortion switch, it works very well.

I fully expect this amp to serve its purpose and probably be passed down to a family member who learns to play later on down the road. Highly recommend for beginners.

 "DR07 is a keeper" 2010-01-27
By Steven K. Hovland (San Francisco, CA United States)
Purchased today. Guitar Center matched the B&H price of $140, but would not match the Amazon price, which was actually a few dollars higher. Take a printout of the B&H page with you. Guitar Center is good about returns.

I plugged in a Rode M3 using the appropriate adapters.

I've tested all mike sensitivity levels and have not heard any clicking that was mentioned on Amazon.

The peak levels on the DR07 display match the peak levels I see in Audacity, so I can be confident about what I see in the field.

I did not find it hard to set the record level, as someone mentioned. You may see the peak jump around a little- -9, -11, -10, but that probably reflects the signal you are putting in.

The amps for the headphones can be noisy at high levels but are OK at mid levels.

The recording itself is quiet- even at the high mike input level I can't really say I heard any hiss.

I looked at my recordings using the spectrum display in Audacity and even at high mike input with a setting of 6 on the record level it was clean above about 3500 hz. The least amount of noise removal in Audacity took care of most of that.

I asked Tascam about the clicking sounds others reported and they said: "The clicking they are complaining about probably is from overloading while recording, you can actually avoid that by turning on the limiter or just turn down the input signal."

"You get exactly what you paid for" 2009-12-07
By J. Brown (MA, USA)
I recently bought this bag and have been using it mostly for safe storage - and it works great for that. The bag is padded enough that it is protected from minor disturbances - the kind that could happen around the house. If you are looking for a bag to travel from gig to gig and walk around with, this probably isn't the bag for you. It doesn't feel very durable, I'm not sure how long the stitching would last being carried around all the time.

However, for 20 bucks this is a great buy if you plan on using it to keep your guitar unscratched while it sits there waiting for you to play it.
