The Pedaltrain Pro was purchased to replace an SKB Stage 5 which was giving me a lot of issues (pedals never seemed to work well with the onboard power supply). I like this unpowered board much better, all the surface space is usable, it's lightweight, comes with tons of velcro and black cable ties so you can make a nice clean setup. You'll of course have to figure out your preferred way of powering everything (I just secured a couple of surge protectors to the underside with cable ties, works fine). It's easy to reconfigure when you add or remove pedals. The very heavy-duty soft case is fine if you're not constantly throwing it in a band truck, if you are you should spring for the version that comes in a road case. Came from Best Service in about 9 days, in good condition and as advertised.

If you're anything other than the very occasional musician, you'd be better off buying the version of this product with the hard case. I'm gigging 3-4 times a month and find that the soft case allows pedals to shift so much during transit that they come loose from the board. The padded flight case would hold pedals down more securely.



But there's more to the problem. First, the Velcro isn't anywhere near strong enough to hold down heavier pedals (e.g. a Digitech Whammy, even a Cry-Baby), which come loose even when picking the board up to put it in its case. I've ended up using cable ties wrapped around the crossbars to augment the Velcro. Second, the glue on the back of the supplied Velcro isn't strong enough to stay attached to many pedals. I've ended up using Gorilla glue to get the stuff to stick.



I'm not sure there is any solution to these problems, since any pedal-board would have the same issues.



Having said that, it's a good solid pedal-board, probably the best available.

I'm a newbi drummer and bought these double thumper pedals. I set them up in a snap and they work great. It came with no instructions or tips so i had a bit of a problem with the left pedal bottoming out at first, but it was just a matter of adjustment. The equipment feels like quality and i really like the sound of the new beaters. One good feature is that the left pedal can disconnect from the other and a beater can be installed for a completely different pedal for another bass or a foot bell. I would recomend these if your a newb like me and dont want to spend hundreds and dont want to buy junk either. I hope that helps you!

Decent pedal for the price. Decent Response and easy to adjust.Better for newbies at double bass like me but if your already good at it I'd recommend the DW 7000 its about 180 bucks more though but completely worth every penny. DW Drums 7000 Series Double Bass Drum Pedal



All and all this pedal was worth the 100 bucks so if your looking for a decent pedal and don't have a lot to spend I recommend this one.

I got my first RAT way the heck back in 1984 when I was 14. I actually won it as a door prize at a Seattle Music Grand reopening party where I went to buy my first electric guitar (an Arbor les paul gold-top copy). I used that pedal for 26 years before finally loaning it to a guitarist who claims to have lost it (yeah right buddy). This model here is the same as the one I got way back then, and it sounds fantastic. The other reviewer here is right, it sounds and operates a bit like a Big Muff Pi, but without some of the wilder harmonics that the Big Muff manages. For hard rock and Metal, it's incredible. You can also dial in smoother tones with really good sustain for a great tone on a blues solo. This thing is virtually indestructible. Besides being a great guitar pedal, it's also a really good bass distortion because you can dial back the treble tone and push the fundamental frequencies of the bass harder. Over the years I've also tried the wider-bodied version of the rat, and tested some of the newer rat models. I realize Proco wants to make other models to appeal to customers they aren't yet reaching, but really, this is the best pedal they've ever made, and if they ever quit producing it, it would be a crying shame. Since losing my original, I've bought another, and I still love this pedal 24 years after first playing with it.

...It's a Rat! This box will do everything from subtle overdrive breakup, to heavy distortion, to full on fuzz. The sustain the Rat gives you is pretty incredible as well. If your looking for a traditional fuzz pedal you may want to look elsewhere. The Rat fuzz is more like that of the Big Muff Pi, without overwhelming your guitar's natural tone.



It can be used to play anything from classic rock right up to industral or metal. It's used by Blur, Tom Petty, Dandy Warhols, Stabbing Westward, The Melvins, Remy Zero, and The Psychedelic Furs just to give an example of its range.



It's built like a tank. You'd be hard pressed to break it. If you drop it there's a better change the floor would be damaged before the Rat.
